With our Professional Masonry Restoration, we can restore all areas of Brick, Block, Stone, and Veneer. We are providing a list here so you can know what we offer, as well as a description of what those services mean:

Tuckpointing

This term describes the process of cutting out deteriorated mortar joints in masonry walls to a uniform depth and filling those joints in with fresh mortar. Sometimes, Tuckpointing describes the complete process of restoring older masonry joints. You may have heard of this procedure described as “repointing” or “pointing”. They all describe the same process.

Parapets

When most people think of parapets, they think of a castle’s low wall, used to protect soldiers when firing. Though a swashbuckling definition, this is not the kind of parapet we are referring to. A parapet is the part of an exterior wall that projects above the roofline. You often see these mission style homes, as well as contemporary block houses.

Skirt Metal

This is a metal shield installed on the backside of a parapet wall. It extends over the top of the roofing material to keep water from getting into the wall. With Portland’s rainy weather, your roof can use all the protection from water damage it can get.

Rebuild of Deterioration

Over time, masonry can become deteriorated. We can rebuild affected areas and match the new brick or stone to the old.

Cleaning & Sealing

Block, brick or stone is extremely hardy. However, when left in the tumultuous weather of Portland, the porous nature of this material can become a problem if not cleaned up and sealed at regular intervals.

Sheetmetal Flashing

Flashing is a thin, impervious material (typically sheet metal) which is used in construction at places like mortar joints to prevent water penetration and/or provide proper drainage.

Wall Caps

These are the finishing touch on any boundary, entry or retaining wall. They give additional protection to the wall, prevent water damage, and they look nice too!

Veneer Anchoring

Veneer is a layer of some kind of stone or brick which is anchored to the structure of the building. We love using veneer to beautify your home.

Seismic Upgrading

Getting your masonry earthquake ready can help stabilize your masonry structure.

Historical Restoration

We have years of experience in masonry restoration of old and historical buildings, bringing them back to their former glory – while complying with the guidelines.

Weatherizing Outside Envelope

The outside envelope is the wall, roof, and the components thereof. Proper weatherizing of that envelope makes it more durable against the elements. This helps prevent property damage due to wind, rain, etc.

Crack Repair

Despite your best efforts, masonry is made of natural components which can deteriorate and crack. We can repair cracks in your brick, block or stone.

New Construction

We can get your new masonry installation built up to comply with your needs and wants, along with complying with building codes.
